Hemingways Watamu has 26 air conditioned large ocean view rooms, ceiling fan, ensuite bathroom, wi-fi, telephone, safe, tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar, mosquito nets, hair dryer and all rooms have easy access to the beach and the botanical pool. They are located on the first and ground floor in the North Wing of the hotel and have a balcony overlooking the Marine Park. The luxury ocean view deluxe rooms are located on the top floor of the North Wing, with ensuite bathrooms, four poster beds and private balconies with panoramic views of the bay and flat screen TV.

A la carte restaurant over looking the sea front, main restaurant and a bar. Leisure facilities include tennis ,two outdoor freshwater pools, library and souvenir shop. A spa with 4 treatment rooms, gym and hair salon. Water sports include, PADI open water diving courses, snorkelling trips, deep-sea fishing and kite surfing. Also available: sunset dhow sundowner cocktail on Mida Creek and cycling in Aruboko Sukoke. Due to weather conditions water sports in May and June cannot be guaranteed.
The beaches in Watamu are susceptible to seaweed and tidal variance from May to September.
From mid March to November the southeast wind (Kusi) blows cooler air than the northeast breeze (Kaskazi) which blows the rest of the year. Outside dining and a pool bar are available only during the Kaskazi.
