Safari In Botswana - Holiday With Some Of The World's Rarest Animals
Botswana is one of Africa's diamonds where your camera is always close at hand. A country of dramatic scenery, untamed parks and free roaming wild animals.
You cannot imagine the diversity of safaris and holidays offered in Botswana.
The Okavango Delta's shimmering crystal clear water, the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, diamond-rich deserts and the herds of elephants in the Chobe National Park make Botswana a rare beauty.
The Okavango Delta a watering hole for the world's rarest mammals, black and white rhinoceros, cheetahs and the African wild dog amongst them. The delta of this UNESCO World Heritage site unusually floods during the dry season and therefore attracts an abundance of animals. The best place to spot this gathering is from a Mokoro, a traditional Botswana canoe.
Another of the country's wet wonderlands, the Chobe National Park, offers the best chance to see wildlife, especially elephants. Africa's greatest elephant population, who roam the area in impressive herds of up to 400, is sustained by the waters from the Chobe River. The river also supports a spectacular variety of birds including ostriches, eagles and storks.
The Makgadikgadi Salt Pans; with its bright-white sparkle the result of a once great lake that has evaporated under the African sun is a haven for birds. A perfect place for camera trickery, as all perspective is lost across the salt sea.
